 Evaluation Rules
« Thread Started on Dec 30, 2007, 9:23pm »

All right, guys. You probably know what this board here is for. It's for evaluating your writing/roleplaying skills. It doesn't have to be a post from DH, since we're just here to judge the level of your skills.

'Evaluated' Rules
- Your posts doesn't have to be from the DH roleplay. You must have to put in the site in which the post came from. If the post is just made, you need not to put in any acknowledgement.
- Your post can be of any genre, whether it be animal, human, or fantasy.
- You must take other's 'constructive' criticism lightly. Do not be enraged when they say that your post sucks or something similar.
- The Rules still apply in your posts.

'Evaluator' Rules
- Do not be a jerk. We know you're evaluating and stuff, but you musn't just put insults. You should put in pointers for the person to ponder on and improve.
- The Rules still apply on your posts, so keep the insults at an extreme minimal.

All right, that's all for now. I'll probably add some more later.

I'll start by evaluating your post.

I believe that the following needs tweaking: You said "you musn't just put insults" then immediately afterwards saying "keep the insults at an extreme minimal." With the first statement, you are saying that the maximum number of insults is zero. However, in your second statement, you are implying that there is an allowed minimum number of insults. Of course you may say that zero is the minimum, then there would be no problem. But then again, it would be redundant in implying that 'you can only post up to zero insults' after saying 'you must not put insults.'

Another gripe: "Minimal" is an adjective and not a noun. "[K]eep the insults at an extreme minimal" would make as much sense as "Keep your insults at a very small." It makes sense (as I can read the meaning and not simply what is written like a robot or an 'English-language compiler') yet I need to suspend my lawful following of my vocabulary (with the aid of a dictionary and the Internet) and my limited-yet-functional knowledge of the English language.

Your turn. :D

Well, I can't always be a budding vocabulary enforcer. Sometimes I'm the lazy boy behind the Internet's facade. I am not going to argue about any of this. And also, this is not a game.

Always budding (which means promising, or showing talent)? i.e. implying you will always be new and fresh to the 'job'? Of course you can't.

This is not a game, yet you can still 'take a turn' by evaluating my post. My use of a smiley was intended to point out that it was a joke, but I guess smilies aren't used that way anymore.

Your lack of willingness to change your easy-to-misunderstand-and-difficult-to-read ways disturbs me, almost as much as the number of travesties of understandable sentences in the entire board.

Finally, laziness should not impediment to being clear. Unless you want to keep your writing at sub-optimal levels (if ever you do post something other than the rules here in this board, then it would be clear that you want the opposite), it should never be.

I said I'm not gonna argue about this, so fine, I'll fix everything that disturbs you because of my laziness. I'll consult the dictionary every time I write something so it'll fit to your liking.

Sorry, but I'm not in the mood for any of this preaching right now.

Sorry but I simply like to preach when it comes to English. Writing is not abstract art: you have freedom but not that much freedom.

...on a completely unrelated topic I use a voice recognition program to write this post. When the call
